Catching Up

I've had a chance to settle down and regain my composure. I'm still unhappy at the results but I am also confident that the 34 times felon will find a way to self destruct and he won't hurt anything. Or I might just shoot him myself. Anyway, some things to talk about that don't warrant a full column.

In case you've been living under a rock for the past month, you may not be aware that it is enrollment time for Medicare and their supplemental plans. There are only seven hundred commercials every fifteen minutes on tv about it and in case you were fast forwarding them the phone calls to sign up come in about one every ten minutes starting at 5:30 AM and continuing until 9:00 PM.

If you've ever tried to figure out what coverage to get yourself you know it is mind numbingly, and headache inducing, impossible. I can't remember how she came into our life but there is a wonderful lady out here by the name of Linda DeLuna who has navigated me and Linda since 2019 through the maze that is Medicare.

She is everything I am not on this subject. Knowledgeable, refreshingly easy to understand, and can explain it so that my fourth grade mind can understand the options. I thank her every single year for her continued employment which allows me to have one less thing to drive me insane about.

She only works in California but I am told by her that there are others like her around the country so do yourself a favor and find one to help you. It will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself. It will leave you plenty of time to scream and insult those robo callers.

I have written here many times how hard it is to be a Chicago sports fan. There is a never ending series of comedy errors that would make you laugh if they didn't hurt so much and weren't so relentless. The futility of the Bears and Blackhawks is the current nightmare. We just finished with the White Sox self destruction this summer and the Cubs are a mess too but look good compared to the White Sox.

Good news. As if cheering for your favorite teams wasn't torture enough now the Sox, Hawks, and Bulls have started their own television network, pictured above on the right, and as you would expect from anything to do with a Chicago sports team, nobody can see the teams play.

Comcast, the largest cable provider in the Chicago market has so far refused to sign a deal with CHSN so those of you that have Comcast, about 95% of the viewers, aren't able to see your team play so far this season. Yes, only in Chicago would a team or teams launch a new venture before actually getting someone to agree to broadcast it.

But, more good news. You can now sign up to have it streamed to you for only $20/month per team or $40/month for all three. Of course that is on top of the $200/month you are already spending for Comcast and not getting the sports package you are paying for already. Brilliant marketing plan.

One of the post mortems on why Trump beat Harris was the report that young men, in particular young white men in their twenties and thirties, but also Latino and Black men voted for Trump because they were upset that women are getting too many of the good jobs and are becoming too strong willed.

It is hurting their feelings and making them feel less of a man.

No, I am not kidding. These soon to be diabetics and drunks are the by product of the one thing I hated about their parents as they were raising them. This whole self esteem issue is because as kids they got participation trophy's when they played little league or soccer or any other sport they played.

I knew it was bad back then and it is proving I was right now. Telling everyone they are all equal is stupid. Kids can see that little Johnny is miles better than he is and pretending that he isn't only makes it harder when they grow up because no employer is going to give employees participation trophy's for doing a half assed job.

And now the country is being destroyed because these twits are hurt that someone is telling them they aren't good enough. What in the hell did you think was going to happen? I blame the parents 100% for this but for Christ's, you're a grown damn man. Start acting like one you little turd pile.

Now that I'm done with my book, (more on that shortly) and the election is over, I will be rejoining Facebook this week sometime. You will now have the chance to get more of my feelings like the above story daily. Sweet!

I did not miss it all summer except to follow the exploits of friends and family, especially those that are not speaking to me or I'm not speaking to them. It allows me to see how they are all doing without actually having to communicate with them. Look for that to happen soon.

As I mentioned, I have finished my third book. Here is the cover. It will be available on Amazon.com hopefully in time for Christmas.

It is a political thriller that takes place this year and it follows the actions surrounding a tragic event that shakes up the Presidential race. It is a fictitious look inside a political campaign, the FBI, and the real power brokers in Washington. I think it is my best writing but I am biased and that is a very low bar.

In case I'm too busy to write another before it arrives, Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you.
