Help Me Understand

As I watched one terrible story after another this week regarding the GOP, and specifically the Trump White House stomping all over the constitution and our rights, I wondered how in God's name were there still 30+% of Americans supporting this idiot and his racist, fascist, and misogynist, party?

But beyond that, I can't get my head around how anyone that isn't a complete idiot, or mentally unstable, can see what is happening and say to themselves, "this is how it should be and this is what I voted for."

Here are just three things going on this week that make me want to scream at all you dopes still supporting this.

First we have the government charging an American hero and Olympic champion with a federal felony for destroying public property, The Lincoln Reflecting Pool. The whole world knew this was bullshit but because the felon in chief said this:

"No, we had vandalism ... no, vandals," (Trump) responded when asked who was responsible for the persistent problems. "We have a 290-, I think 300-foot slit right through, probably a box cutter or a knife of some kind."

Then most of his minions in the Cabinet were on TV spouting nonsense like this from the Interior Secretary"

Bash pressed Burgum on whether officials had photographs of "a person or people cutting a 300 or 350 ft gash" in the bottom of the pool.

"Dana, I’m not sure why you and others in the media think that you want to keep trying to question… this is an industrial liner," Burgum said.

Burgum said the material installed in the pool was not paint, comparing it to the sprayed-on liner used in pickup truck beds.

"Every farmer and rancher in America that’s had their pickup liner lined by this sprayed-on liner knows that you literally, literally, it would never just like peel off or fall off," Burgum said. "This is like a strong material, and it’s the size of eight football fields."

Then Jeanine Pirro the United States Attorney for DC filed the charges and said this in her press conference:

You know, I’m not going to get into the evidence, but what I told you is what our witnesses saw and experienced. There was an effort, a violent effort, to rip up the sealant from the bottom of the pool. And irrespective of whether or not, you know, we think that there is some situation that preceded it, we can state and prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he caused damage, and that damage is over a thousand dollars.

So they arrested this poor guy and were prepared to send him to jail for ten years because they had proof beyond a reasonable doubt, until yesterday when the same dope that charged him because the dear leader demanded she do it, filed this with the court.

Government lawyers said in a 20-page court filing that additional documents provided by the Interior Department since the indictment of David Hearn show that the damage was the result of a botched installation by a contractor as well as “the rush to complete the project prior to events associated with the America 250 celebration in the weeks surrounding Independence Day 2026.” In addition, a recent visual inspection revealed damage throughout the pool, including in the middle — where prosecutors say a vandal would not likely have attempted to peel the lining.

“Given all of this newly discovered information, it is difficult to attribute the widespread damage to the Reflecting Pool to vandalism, let alone to establish that fact beyond a reasonable doubt,” said the filing from U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, which asked a judge to formally dismiss the case.

Imagine. Here was the government going to put an innocent man in jail for ten years because the dope leading this party demanded that they charge someone. This is how dictatorships work. We will now have to pay the millions he will win in a lawsuit against the government.

The second story that has me shaking my head is a report from the Wall Street Journal, a very right wing paper that blindly supports all things GOP no matter what, wondering why the President is collecting billions and billions of dollars for various funds that have no oversight and no reporting of where or to whom the money is going.

According to reporting from the Wall Street Journal, Trump has raised more than $781.9 million in donations and other payments since the 2024 election. The money comes from a slew of wealthy donors and companies and has been stashed in various nonprofits, cultural institutions and committees connected to the President and his allies.

 National Garden of American Heroes

 Freedom 250

Not to mention his $1.776 billion fund to pay the people that rioted and beat policemen on January 6th, or himself, because nobody really knows where it will go or who will decide. On top of all this grift, he got his personal attorney to get the DOJ headed up by his personal attorney to grant he and his family and all their business a never will be audited or charged card from the IRS. Even a federal judge said this was beyond wildly illegal and he couldn't do it but yet they refuse to put it in writing that this is all dead because they surely are going to keep doing it.

And only two Republican Senators have said, wait a minute, we need this in writing before we approve your choice for Attorney General, your personal attorney. Why is no one else in the GOP outraged at this? He continues to stomp on the Constitution and ignore the courts and his backers say, so what.

The third and most disturbing story comes from Ohio where a Congressman running for re-election has been charged, by his ex-wife, of assault, battery of both her and their two year old daughter.

The Republican congressman, Max Miller 37, who represents Ohio’s seventh congressional district, has denied accusations made by his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, and former girlfriend Stephanie Grisham, as he campaigns for re-election.

Moreno, a conservative policy adviser, shares a two-year-old daughter with Miller. The pair have been engaged in a legal battle over custody of their child since 2024.

In one alleged incident, Miller “took hot water from a pan he had just cooked eggs in and threw it at me”, Moreno testified earlier this year amid a defamation lawsuit Miller filed against her. Moreno has also accused Miller of holding a gun to her head, the New York Times reported. (She also accused him of pushing their two year old daughter that resulted in her shoulder being dislocated.) The pair married in 2022.

In addition, Moreno alleged that Miller “regularly speaks to me in an inappropriate, aggressive and demeaning manner, which is not in the best interest of our child”.

Her father Ohio Senator, Bernie Moreno, has been weirdly silent on this.

In a statement to the Guardian, a spokesperson for Bernie Moreno said: “Senator Moreno’s top priority is the safety and well-being of his daughter and granddaughter … While he will not litigate these matters in the media or respond to baseless public attacks, he will do whatever it takes to ensure a just outcome for his family.”

Yet he wasn't so silent this past week while grilling Dr. Anthony Fauci.

During a Senate hearing Wednesday, Republican Bernie Moreno tore into Dr. Anthony Fauci using explicit language while pressing the former public health official on the government's response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Who the fuck do you think you were?" the Ohio senator asked Fauci. "It is a total disgrace what you did to this country."

Moreno further accused Fauci — former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases — of being "more interested in being a celebrity than saving the American people."

The senator's high octane rhetoric rang hollow with some commentators. "He has harsher words for Dr. Fauci than his fellow Republican Congressman who allegedly abused his daughter,"

Meanwhile, another Ohio Republican Congressman, Jim Jordan, who went out of his way to demand that former Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell and recently the Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner step down after allegations of assault came out on them, has no problem with Miller staying in the race.

Rep. Jim Jordan defended fellow Republican Max Miller during a CNN interview about abuse allegations involving Miller’s family. Jordan called Miller “a good man” and described the accusations as “a family matter.” CNN then detailed allegations involving Miller’s ex-wife and then-toddler daughter. The network also contrasted Jordan’s defense with his earlier criticism of Democratic candidate Graham Platner.

CNN then played Jordan’s earlier Newsmax remarks about Platner. In that clip, Jordan accused Democrats of prioritizing political power. He also accused them of opposing anyone who challenged President Trump.

The blind double standard this party has for themselves and the Democrats is beyond sickening and insane. This is what misogyny looks like for the undereducated. How can a father not be outraged at the treatment of his daughter, and his granddaughter?

What in the serious effing hell is wrong with these people?

Here is my question to all of you that still support this President and this party?

What has gone wrong in your brain that allows you to just push these things aside and continue to support the party, and the asswipe moron in charge, because you think it is pissing off the libtards? Are you so mentally disturbed that you can rationalize this behavior because it means these criminal degenerates tell you what you like to hear, that the otherside are the bad guys and you are the good one?

Are you so braindead that you can't see how terrible these people are and that, sit down for this, they fucking hate you, that you continue to vote for their idiocy and destruction of our country just so you can feel better?
