After fighting with Amazon for the past week, the verdict is in and I can now announce that my second book, shown above, is in the process of being published and will be available within the next 72 hours in paperback. It is currently available on Kindle.
Homecoming is a fictional story about three high school friends who attend their fiftieth high school homecoming. For over thirty years they have been looking for a fourth friend with no luck. Their concern about his whereabouts turns to surprise and then fear as they discover what happened to him and are pursued by the CIA, NSA, and Russian FSB as they want to know what happened to him also.
Homecoming will take you on a cat-and-mouse chase that stretches from Chicago to Canada to Maui. It will surprise you, shock you, and make you laugh occasionally too. I can honestly say that it is my best fiction book I've ever written.
Amazon originally turned it down because they felt it might be too close in story line, cover design, and title to another book they sell. When I sent them pictures of eight other books, of seventy- two pages of books called Homecoming, that brought them to their senses. Why not publish mine when they already have 650 books of a similar title? Anyway, we are back on speaking terms again and all is good.
There are too many people to thank here, you can read their names in the book under acknowledgements, but I do want to highlight a couple of people if you will allow me.
I want to first thank my wife Linda who is the only person on earth that has read this book as many times as me. Her ability to find mistakes is scary. If I missed any it is my fault and not hers. She is my best critic because she has no problem telling me when I am wrong or am doing something stupid, which seems to be pretty often now that I think about it.
Also, my brother Joe who is the busiest PR agent in the business and yet finds the time to bail me out and help to create the covers for me and refuses to take the money I have never offered him, and I'm not even his favorite sibling!
Speaking of covers, this one was created by a neighbor, whom I had never met or talked to until I finished this book. John Evanoff was incredibly selfless and gracious to do this for me. His artwork, which he shares on the HOA Facebook pages, it just unbelievable. I am honored to have him do this for me and will be forever grateful to him.
Finally, I want to thank you, my family and friends, for helping me get this project started when I needed some help in the beginning. Without your support, advice, and friendship, this never gets done. I am not worthy of having you in my life. Sometimes. Well, occasionally. Alright I'm not worthy.
I hope you will find it enjoyable, I think you will, and I hope that you will share this with three hundred of your closest friends and family. It will make a fabulous Fathers Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, and Holiday gift.
Thank you for your continued support and friendship.
