We Had A Nice Run

Beyond the unspeakable evil that this bill contained is the fact that nearly every single Republican in Congress voted for it knowing it was going to kick people off their health care, close rural hospitals, take food away from hungry children, increase our cost of electricity by as much as 35%, effectively eliminate the ability to get an abortion anywhere, and forty other horrible things, all so 20 super billionaires and the top 50 corporations can get tax breaks they won't even notice they are getting. That is what this "Big Beautiful Bill" has given we the people.

Now, if you only watch FOX or Newsmax or some other dangerous right wing media outlet, you aren't hearing any of this because all they are trumpeting is how ICE will be getting one hundred times more money to round up people of color and torture them in local or far away prisons. Anytime any GOP speaker went on one of these right leaning stations all you heard was how the Democrats were lying and that the CBO was a liberal pinko organization. (Newsflash - it is currently run by the Republicans and they are an independent group.)

Here is the truth. We are screwed as a country.

The Democrats are rallying around the fact that in 2026 there will be the chance to vote out all these clowns on the right and take back control of Congress, maybe even win a super majority. If there are elections I would agree that there is that possibility. The problem is that we have the memory of gnats and by the time the elections roll around next year we will have forgotten what just happened and the right wing media machine will have spun this as the Democrats that failed you.

There is nothing for us to celebrate this year and I'm sorry to be the guy that brings you down but we all need to get our heads out of our asses and recognize when our country is being destroyed from within.

If some felon loving loser tells you how great things are with these thugs in charge either punch them or tell them to their faces that they are the most fricking stupid people alive and to get away from you before they get hurt.

The time to get violent is upon us if we want to save our country.
